Battle of the Gods
Battle of the Gods, The most detailed defense of the historic Christian concept of God written in modern times. Dr. Morey refutes the Open View of God that is now being taught in evangelical circles. Topics include: a response to Process Theology; Religion, Reason and Revelation; the Attributes of God; and the Testimony of the Church Fathers. The topics provide a grounded history of how Christianity overcame idolatry. In the first century most people worshiped idols. Dr. Morey explains how the early Christians overcame this form of worship. How the Christians of the first century called pagans out of idolatry. It seemed simple, the Christians asked how these finite “gods” could protect the worshipers? The answers they tried to give couldn’t answer the questions.
One of the essential elements of the Christian Gospel tells us that there is only one God. God became the same God of the prophets and the Apostles. He is immutable, unchanging. The Lord doesn’t lie or change His mind. Our God acts with all the “omni” attributes in all our affairs. The open view of god tells us that he can’t know the future. Processians declare that god relies on chance and “luck”. We are fortunate to believe in the one true God of the Bible.
