The Bible, Natural Theology and Natural Law: Conflict or Compromise

Dr. Robert Morey’s study of natural law and natural theology raises important questions that every Bible-believer will want answered. His careful study and explanation of various Bible passages will yield a useful orientation to the classic arguments furnished us by the Reformers and their faithful heirs.
-Dr. Nelson Kloosterman

The present volume presents a devastating critique of natural theology and natural law. Its argument is solidly biblical, and its accumulation of biblical data is overwhelming. I hope that God prospers it so that many will read it and take heed.
-Dr. John Frame

A.W. Tozer said, “the most important thing about any person is what comes into their mind when they think of the word God.” If you digest Dr. Morey’s book, you will think of ‘God’ as the glorious One depicted in Holy Scripture.”
-John G. Reisinger

I appreciate Dr. Morey’s emphasis on making the Bible alone the theoretical basis for science and the arts. All throughout the book he consistently points to the Scriptures as the basis for sustaining everything else.
-Dr. Simon Kistemaker

I encourage you to read Dr. Robert Morey’s “The Bible, Natural Theology and Natural Law: Conflict or Compromise”, 2010, Christian Scholars Press. SOURCE: http:/www.faithdefenders.com, in which he documents that the Methodist Church was the first mainline denomination to go apostate. Dr. Morey also writes one of the best commentaries I have ever read on the Book of Job. In addition, in his chapter on Job, Dr. Morey with a single swing of a giant scythe, levels and demolishes the strongholds and principalities of natural man’s rationalism, empiricism, mysticism, and fideism embedded in Emerging Church and Purpose-Driven Theologies.

Description

The Bible, Natural Theology and Natural Law: Conflict or Compromise

The Bible, Natural Theology and Natural Law: Conflict or Compromise, the present volume presents a devastating critique of natural law and natural theology.  Dr. Morey understands the philosophical and theological traditions that give rise to this compromise.  He digs deeply into scripture to refute these traditions, and present God’s truth.  The truth and biblical data becomes overwhelming!  A renewed commitment to “Sola Scriptura” becomes the greatest need of Christianity today.  Only when ministers preach God’s word as the ultimate and sufficient authority will a revival of the reformation happen.

Today attacks on the revealed word of God come from humanists; those who believe man comes before God; or mystics who believe in their feelings; or from those who believe in reason; and lastly those who believe their faith is the ultimate authority, not God!  Christians need not fear that rejection of natural theology makes them defenseless.  The Apostle Paul writes, “For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength!” (1 Corinthians 1:25)  Reliance on divine revelation makes us invincible, not vulnerable.  Christians must learn to think and communicate on the basis of God’s word.  If we begin with the biblical doctrine of creation, fall, and redemption we understand God, man, and the world.  This answers the questions pertaining to life, death, and eternity.

The Bible, Natural Theology and Natural Law: Conflict or Compromise

The differences between philosophy and God’s word distinguishes sharply between man’s wisdom and God’s revelation.  Those saved by the blood of Christ should never presume to discover God or His morals by reason alone!  Rather they subordinate their reason to the revealed word of God.  Revelation of God appears in nature, the universe.  God’s nature and moral standards inevitably get misused by man’s fallen nature.  They suppress the revelation of God in nature.  Often times they exchange these revelations for pagan lies.  They also refuse to worship God and obey His moral standards.
