Description
Daniel’s 70th Week
Daniel’s 70th Week; Prophecy in the book of Daniel continues difficult to interpret. He meant what by seventy “weeks,” and the seventieth week means what? To clarify, this lecture helps to shed light on one of the difficult passages in Biblical prophecy. Dr. Morey answers questions dealing with the Book of Daniel. He deals with Chapter 9, verse 24 thru 27. Dr. Morey explains the hermenuetics of these passages. He also connects many other passages together to complete the prophecy discussed. Approximately 700 prophecies get mentioned in the Old Testament. To determine the “kind” of prophecy it needs to be fulfilled before determining what kind of prophecy prevails, spiritual or literal.
Interpretation of scripture with present day ideas leads to wrong ideas. Therefore, one must look at the way the world acted in the time of Jesus. The study of Hermenuetics tells us to interpret scripture in light of the time, grammar, syntax, and knowledge of the time of the author. Today’s time, grammar, syntax, and knowledge act very differently from Jesus’ time. The closing portion of the lecture turns into a question and answer session. Some of the questions proceed to ask about things other than Daniel’s prophecy. They ask about books about hermenuetics, eschatology, and other non-related subjects.
