The Book of Romans chapter 9-11, in this 10 CD set Dr. Morey continues to discuss and explain the Book of Romans a discussion of the human conscience. To understand the conscience we need to begin with God. God laid out the definition of good and evil based on “His conscience“. When the day of judgement arrives we obtain our “punishment” based on God’s conscience.
Chapter 10 continues with Israel’s zealousness however, they pursue their own and not God’s righteousness! We hear that the word abides near us and if we confess Jesus as Lord, and believe God raised Him from the dead. You will be saved! We need not fear being put to shame if we continue our belief in Christ. Paul talks about the remnant of Israel and their lack of knowledge of the gospel. We hear in chapter 10 that Jesus brought the end of the law, actually the completion of the law. Now we know the goal of the law for us.
Chapter 11 Many controversies arose from this Chapter. These controversies arise due to the “mysteries” that come from an infinite mind, God’s mind. If the scriptures were written by a finite mind then man would be able to understand scriptures. This provides proof that “God” inspired the gospel. God’s selection of the elect determined by the “Grace of God”. They tell us that our selection by God through His grace and not by human works. Salvation becomes something we can’t earn. Most other religions rely on their own works, only Christianity counts on God’s grace. And election by God becomes our source of Grace.
