Christian Philosophy of Science
Christian Philosophy of Science, Dr. Morey asks these questions, “What is science?” Does science exhibit any limits? What defines the nature of science? All these questions need answering before we understand the answer to “what is science?” The object of this lecture becomes removing a fear of science from our hearts. Science lives in a relative state, ever changing with each new generation. Humanists connected science to whatever fad existed at the time. Starting with the golden age of Greek Philosophy where the thought lived that man existed as the measure of all things. They also determined that man’s senses helped to find out what the world rested on. Observation prevailed as the basis of all science. You observed then you theorized, based on what you saw.
There arose a group of philosophers who determined that the world consisted of things you could not see. They called these building blocks “atoms”. The lecture continues with an explanation of the various people who lived through history. After rationalism passed, existentialism became the leader of thought. Existentialism taught us that all is relative. There live no absolutes! Then the humanists revived their ideas of science which rest on the old ideas with a new vocabulary. The humanists taught that science and the Bible grew as enemies. Scientists deal in facts while religion rests on faith.
There prevails more information but you will need to get the set to find out more.
