Doctrine of Heaven
Doctrine of Heaven, What the Bible teaches about heaven. Let us look to scripture to see if Heaven exists. Is it a physical place, or only spiritual? This inspiring lecture with Dr. Robert Morey answers these questions and more!
We start our lecture learning that death prevails as gain. Consequently the Apostle Paul tells us that much. So we further hear that theology and things of God must not come from man. Coming from man begets humanism not Godism. Verse 5 in First Corinthians chapter 2 states, “so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.” Above all what God prepares for those who love Him no one conceives exists. When we search scripture we understand those words come through the Holy Spirit and not from man. Only through God’s word do we gain any knowledge of the afterlife. Any other approach yields blind, deaf murmurings containing no value.
In Hebrew and Greek literature heaven comes in three levels. Level number one equals the air where clouds “live”. Level number two becomes space where the stars shine. The third level of heaven, called Paradise, where God rules. God localized His rule, His throne, and His power in the paradise level. As a result scripture tells us all these things. Just as the air persists as real. And the level of space stands as real. So too the level of paradise exists as real.
Doctrine of Heaven
Human souls, spirit creatures, and resurrected humans dwell in this third level. Proof of this fact comes from the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ. In other words He ascended bodily into heaven as scripture reveals. John 2:18 – 21 provides more information on this action. To clarify that heaven exists as a physical place somewhere in the universe. When Christ returns in His physical body He will change our bodies to reflect His glory.
