Those who fear the Lord become those who truly serve the Lord. They show righteousness, along with their fear of God.
Besetting sins effect all of us. Feeding the besetting sins grows them stronger. Feeding lustful sins by viewing the wrong movies, reading sexual books or viewing pornography. Why god left besetting sins, to make Heaven all the sweeter; also to humble you. Mortifying sin by fleshy means only makes the sin worse. The Holy Spirit deals best with mortifying your besetting sins. The best of Saints fall into the worst of sins. 1 Corinthians talks about besetting sins. Dr. Morey then discusses the example of the crooked stick drawing a straight line. All the people in the old and new testament dealt with their own besetting sins, Paul – anger; Peter – fear. So do not fear the fact that we all have besetting sins.

Dr. Morey lists a few of the besetting sins of the people of Corinth. This church thought that the sins of sex were OK. This caused Paul to write the letter to the Corinthians rebuking their behavior. You can’t have communion then drink from the cup of the devil.
Dr. Morey talks about many sins that the Corinthians performed. Sins that are not consistent with faith.
